SEGA Registers Domain for Sonic and the Black Knight

21 07 2008

An entry on Whols.net reveals that Sega Japan has registered the web domain of sonicandtheblackknight.com. Thus, this new Wii game has basically been proven true, and the September NP scan is not a hoax.

Evidence shows that Sonic and the Black Knight has been under production by Sega since at least the beginning of July. It obviously wouldn’t be long enough if it’s only been in production for that long to show it at E3 2008. Considering that Sega still hasn’t confirmed the existence of the game, but it is very obviously real now.

Sonic and the Black Knight? Oh why?!

20 07 2008

A “leaked” scan for the cover of this September’s issue of Nintendo Power has revealed a new Sonic title, Sonic and the Black Knight. Many of us hope this is a joke, but knowing SEGA, of course, it’s not.

Sonic Chronicles Playable at SoS!

19 07 2008

The upcoming game, Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood, has been confirmed playable at the Summer of Sonic (SoS) event in London this coming August. This was announced two days ago by Svend “Dreadknux” Joscelyne on TSS/SoS 2008 website.

So, if you wanna be among the first to play this RPG before its release in September, you should attend SoS and get there early, because the hall is apparently going to be packed.

As a little background for all who don’t already know, Summer of Sonic is a Sonic the Hedgehog convention started up by TSS in 2006. It dissapeared for 2007, but has come back with a vengence this year (2008). It will be presented by The Sonic Stadium (TSS) and Sonic Wrecks, with some support from SEGA obviously. This year, it will be hosted in London, England at the Covent Dragon Hall Trust on August 9th. Visit the Summer of Sonic site to sign up if you wish to attend the event.

Special guest to the convention are Lee Brotherton (Musician) and Nigel Kitching (Sonic the Comic) by the way. =)

Sonic Unleashed Name Change… Again

19 07 2008

A little while back, the name “Sonic World Adventure” was found as a strategy guide for an upcoming game. People in the community thought that this meant that Sonic Unleashed was changing its name since this new title fit the storyline. The guys over seas at SEGA Europe responded to this on the Sonic City Blognik, stating that this was the name of the game while it was in early development, much like when Sonic Wildfire became Sonic and the Secret Rings.

But now, Sonic World Adventure has been announced to be the name of Sonic Unleashed in Asia/Japan. The official Sonic World Adventure website has been launched here.

This new website has a very charming layout compared to the generic design of the American/European ones that were recycled from other games’ sites like Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood. Not much else has been released for Sonic Unleashed/Sonic World Adventure yet.
